Bally wins the Happy Birthday Wayne Hockley Congratulations Handicap Hurdle (Class 2) 3m2½fNick Scholfeild was pleased he got down to do the weight to win on Ballyegan Hero. He made it a strong even pace to ensure it didnt turn into a sprint finish, he remained a staying race which played into Bally's strengths. It was a great front running ride by Nick and a great performance by Bally.

Ballyegan Hero continues in good form with a second at Uttoxeter in the Sky Sports Racing Sky 415 Handicap Chase (Class 2) 3m2f.
Bally jumped supurbly and got every yard of the trip and stayed on strongly. Tom was pleased he was able to compete at this grade.  Small Bad Bob wins Newton Abbot in the 'Visit attheraces.com Novices' Hurdle' (Class 4) (4yo+) (2m2f110yds), comfortably under Nick Scholfield.
Nick was always up with the leaders but was soon able to assert like the 1/5 on favourite he was.  Another great ride by Tom to win the Newton Abbot Racecourse On Facebook Handicap Chase
(Class 4) (0-120, 5yo+) (3m1f170yds) . We had discussed trying to lead in the race but Tom found all three of our competitors had the same idea. Tom sat off them with his usual patient manner and let them fight it out for the lead, after the third last they'd done their running and Tom pushed Bally into a 20 length lead. Exellent perfomance by horse and jockey.
The long trip to Hexham was well worth it as Maasai Warrior wins the Holiday At Hexham Racecourse Caravan Park Handicap Chase over 2m4f. Maasai Travelled strongly in rear, jumped well making headway as he jumped, he tracked the leaders from 3 out when led going easily , he was shaken up and went clear from last. It was both our and Seans first winner at Hexham as the yards previous two trips had resulted in three 2nd's, great to finally go one better.

Crossley Tender continued his great run of form with a 2nd in the Eider Handicap Chase 4m1½f
George rode Crossley Tender today for his final piece of fast work before the Eider Chase, he worked with Lisronagh Stone, who is a strong worker, and Our Nest Egg who can also work well. The horses normally go individually at about 28 miles an hour to the three Furlong marker then join each other and go strong from the three Furlong marker, they normally drop off a speed of around 38 mph by the five furlong but today because three were working together they were slightly steadier at the 3 to the 4 furlongs but continued to build in speed and were strong up until the 6 furlong marker. All three riders were pleased with the way the horses went . George felt it was a strong piece of work and they got progressively faster and Crossley took some pulling up at the end of the gallop. George is my most experienced rider but doesn’t ride Crossley very often but mentioned that Natasha had done a good job in riding him over the last couple of months as he was so much more settled since the last time she sat on him.

| Doitforthevillage once again showed his determination in finishing 2nd at Sandown in the Kingston Handicap Chase 2m4f. Paddy was happy to get back onto one of his old favourites, and was surprised at Doit's ability to grind it out on heavy ground.  |   |
